Long-term Care Advocacy Nursing Home Ombudsman ProgramLifespan’s Ombudsman Program mediates patient care issues in long term care facilities in Monroe, Ontario, Genesee and Livingston counties. Ombudsmen are trained, independent volunteers who are assigned to long-term care facilities. Ombudsmen listen, mediate, negotiate, propose and facilitate solutions to residents' concerns and problems. They help residents and families learn to advocate for themselves. Ombudsman volunteers needed! Lifespan will provide the 36-hour training necessary to become a NYS Certified Ombudsman: October 18, 21, 22, 26, 27, 29 from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm at the Ontario Office of Aging 3010 County Complex Dr. Canandaigua, Contact Debra Frink at 244-8400, ext. 178 to learn more!
