The New York State Long-term Care Ombudsman program at Lifespan oversees nine counties in the Greater Rochester area. Ombudsmen advocate for individuals living in licensed long-term care communities – nursing homes, assisted living and adult care facilities - by resolving problems, protecting rights, advocating for dignity, and respect. Trained volunteers make weekly visits to assigned facilities so that residents receive the highest quality of life and care. Mandated trainings are held yearly.
Our next training is scheduled for April 27, 28 and May 1, 2, 3, 2017 in Rochester.
If you are 21 or older and sensitive to the needs of older adults, please call 585-287-6378 or e-mail dfrink@lifespanrochester.org for more information about the Ombudsman program.
