Aging Mastery Online Class (This class is full.)

Aging Mastery is a ten-session workshop designed to help us make the most of our lives as we age—through knowledge sharing, goal setting, feedback, daily practices, and peer support. You’l learn to make modest changes to produce big results.

Starts Monday, May 11 at 1:45 pm for one hour for ten weeks. Registration is required. Please use our registration link. You will be sent a link to Zoom following registration. Please plan to attend all sessions.

Classes:

  • Navigating Longer Lives: Concept of Aging Mastery, gift of longevity, and taking small steps to improve health, financial well-being, and quality of life.

  • Exercise and You: Discussion of the importance of aerobics, strengthening, flexibility, balance as they relate to aging.

  • Sleep: Overview of how sleep patterns change as we age, the importance of monitoring the sleep cycle and simple strategies to improve sleep.

  • Healthy Eating and Hydration: Review of nutrition as it relates to aging, strategies for incorporating healthy eating and hydration into daily routines.

  • Financial Fitness: Introduction to strategies for remaining economically secure in an era of longevity, with an emphasis on setting financial goals and setting financial boundaries with friends and families.

  • Medication Management: Best practices covering how to take medications as directed, how to store medications safely, and how to keep track of multiple medications.

  • Advance Planning: Guidance on health care, financial, and housing/care decisions and role of personal beliefs and values on those decisions.

  • Healthy Relationships: Exploration of the benefits of being socially active, risks of isolation, practical strategies building and maintaining relationships as we age.

  • Falls Prevention: Overview of the importance of falls prevention among older adults and strategies to prevent falling.

  • Community Engagement: Introduction to the value of continuing contribution for individuals and for society, with a focus on identifying personal aptitudes and finding meaningful volunteer and civic opportunities.
