Identify the impact of historic events and societal inequities as well as the resilience and strengths of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ+) older adults. We will delve into the varied experiences of LGBTQ+ elders, considering intersectional identities, such as race, ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status, citizenship status, etc. Students will identify and discuss how aging services and long-term care communities can better support and affirm LGBTQ+ older adults.
